Scope - Scope I (1974)

The debut album from this band from The Netherlands.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, grand piano, organ, keyboards, moog and flute.

One guest added saxophone.

This band released two albums between 1974 and 1975. Both of them will be reviewed in the coming days on this blog.

Scope I clocks in at fifty minutes.

The music is fusion/jazz rock.

There are some Soft Machine influences in their music. The band is also influenced by the other great fusion bands from the early 1970s too.

The music is a bit laid back at times with a lot of harmonies instead of being an all out solos based album. That makes this album a bit different from other fusion albums from that time.

The music is decent enough. This album is pretty obscure and that for a good reason. Fusion fans should check out this album.
