The sixth album from this band from Australia.
The band was a trio with a lineup of didgeridoo, drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, keyboards, harmonica and flute.
Two guests added violin and soprano vocals.
The band returned again with their third album that year. A productive year, in other words. A year when quantity overruled the quest for quality as their first two albums were pretty dismal.
No expectations to this album, then...
Paxillus is a forty minutes long album and the band is exploring classic symphonic prog on this album.
The references are the likes of ELP, Yes, King Crimson and Genesis. The band still does it their own way. The music is dynamic and has some good keyboards and guitars. The keyboards generated organ sound is very good here.
A soprano vocalist is adding a lot to one of the tracks here and to the album as a whole.
This album is so far their best album and by a country mile. This is a good album in it's own right too. Check it out.
