The sixth album from this band from The Netherlands.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, steel guitar, guitars, piano, keyboards, flute and vocals.
The band has established itself as one of the better new progressive rock bands. Their albums and gigs are doing well.
Push Back The Horizon is a seventy minutes long album. It is also their first post-pandemic album.
The music is a blend of heavy prog and neo-prog. The music is both muscular and pretty melodic at the same time.
The music is mostly dominated by the very good vocals from Maartje Meessen. Her voice is both powerful and melodic. She is also from what I gather the band leader too.
The other musicians does a very good job too.
The music requires some listening sessions before it really catches the listener. Lesoir is not one of those melodic proggy pop bands. Their music is more eclectic and complex than catchy and melodic.
After some listening, a good album reveals itself. But this album demands a lot from the listeners. Only those who give it their full attention will be rewarded.
