The fourth album from this band from USA.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, banjo, guitars and vocals.
Three guests added cello, piano, organ and trumpet.
This is a new band to me. I got a promo copy of this album and put it on my long list of new albums to be reviewed.
The music on this forty minutes long album is a blend of psych rock, country and classic hard rock. The music is still pretty weird and left-field.
I cannot even find any bands I can compare this band with as Bask is pretty much of my charts of what I am used to.
The music is hard and it also sounds fresh. There is a lot of good guitars here but not so many guitar solos... if any at all.
The music is indeed a bit left field although the band describes themselves as hillbillies. The band is indeed from North Carolina, the rural hilly, forested hillbilly area.
The result is plainly weird but also a pretty good album. I cannot say this album has won me over but it still deserves to be checked out.
