Foundation. The - Relations (2025)

The second album from this band from The Netherlands.

The band was an eight piece big band with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, violin, piano, keyboards, flute and vocals.

I really liked their 2023 debut album Mask as I wrote in my review back in July this year in this blog. Hence I was looking forward to review their new album, Relations.

The album is clocking in at just short of one hour.

The music this time is more symphonic prog than neo-prog. It can be argued if there is any neo-prog here at all.

There are some really soaring symphonic rock pieces here. Some of them performed as long guitar solos. Those are great.

Strangely enough, the vocals are both in English and French. There is one great French song here who reminds me a lot about the French symphonic prog scene. Weird as the band is from The Netherlands. But this is also great. Weird, but great....

The vocals is very good and the band does a great job.

This is an altogether great album and in my top five best albums of the year.
