Midlake - A Bridge to Far (2025)

The sixth album from this band from USA.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars and vocals.

A handful of guests added percussion, saxophone and vocals.

This is the follow up to their pretty good 2022 album For The Sake Of Bethel Woods. This is also their second album since their comeback.

Midlake is listed as a folk-rock band in ProgArchives and other places. The music on this forty minutes long album is a blend of folk rock and west-coast psych rock. Just as it was on their previous album. There are not many differences, stylewise.

The music is mid-tempo with a lot of vocals and vocal harmonies. There are some more Americana in their music too.

The vocals are good and some of the songs are good too. The music is too pedestrian though. That makes this another pretty good album from this band.
