Jazz Q - Hodokvas (1979)

The sixth album from this band from the Czech Republic.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, organ, clavinet, electric piano, synths and vocals.

Two guests added percussion, whistle and harmonica.

The band returned again for this three quarters of an hour long album.

The band was one of the better jazz and fusion bands from behind the Iron Curtain. In other words, a band not widely known in the rest of the world. Which is a huge injustice to this band and the musicans who graced this band.

The music is this time pretty slow to mid-tempo fusion.

The music is pedestrian at times with some slow and lingering guitars and organ solos. The music is still pretty dynamic throughout.

The result is another good album from this band. A band well worth checking out if you are into fusion.
