The third album from this band from France.
The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and electronics.
I reviewed their first album Nord fifteen years ago in ProgArchives. I reviewed their second album Ausserwelt in May 2024 in # 3 of this blog and liked it a lot. I will review the remaining three albums before the end of the year.
The seventy minutes long Vampyr is the soundtrack to Carl Dreyer's 1932 silent movie of the same name.
The music is darkened post-rock with some post-metal influences.
The music is pretty infernal and particular at the end of the soundtrack, the climax of the silent movie.
The music is pretty good throughout, despite of the very slow start which has a lot of ambient music. But the music improves a lot after ten minutes.
This is an album well worth checking out.
