The debut album from this band from USA.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, mandolin, dulcimer, autoharp, keyboards and vocals.
This band from Boston has released four album between 2012 and 2022. I am reviewing all four this winter, hopefully before the end of the year.
The band name is pretty interesting and wild. Ditto for the album title and the album art-work.
The music on this fifty minutes long album is a blend of heavy metal and folk music.
Skyclad from Great Britain is a good reference. Wilderun is more folk music orientated though.
There are some death metal growls here but the metal part is more like power metal and heavy metal.
The music is pretty fast and wild. The balance between metal and folk music is pretty good and most of the album is indeed good. There are also some less good pieces here. The use of mandolin is very good.
This is a pretty good album and a promising debut album. I am looking forward to listen to the remaining three albums.
