The eighth album from this band from Iceland.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, electronics and vocals.
This fifty minutes long album is their so far latest album. I guess we will soon get a new album from them.
The band continued on from their previous album. All their previous albums had been good post-metal albums and well worth checking out.
Their 2002 debut album were an extreme metal album and I did not really expect a return to those days. But that is what the band has done.... half of this album, that is.
The music is very varied. From Drudkh like extreme metal to some dungeon synths towards the end of the album. We also get some barren landscapes sounding post-metal here. This is what we got on the five previous albums too.
Hin Helga Kvol is still a break, a pretty big break with their previous albums. The music much more brutal. The music is still good though and proves that the band is a quality band, rivalling Sigur Ros as the best band from this island. Check it out.
