Cormorano - L'inciampo Dell'Uovo (2025)

The third album from this band from Italy.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, saxophone and keyboards.

Two guests added guitars and vocals.

Two months ago, I reviewed their second album Obliquizioni D'Autonni (2023) and gave it a good rating. It was an album with a blend of jazzy and folk rock influenced RPI.

The band very much continues down/up the same path on their new album. A forty minutes long album.

The Dimitri Stratos influenced vocals give us a lot of Area vibes here.

The music is slightly more avant-garde orientated and less melody focused on this album. Not at least because of the first five avant-garde rock focused minutes.

The music then becomes a bit more melodic. It also becomes a bit more folk rock and jazz focused.

Half of this album is good while the rest is not really up to a good standard. The vocals is good and that is what I take from this album. This album is not as good as their last album.

2.5 points
