Musica Urbana - Musica Urbana (1976)

The debut album from this band from Spain.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of marimb, percussion, drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, keyboards, synths, woodwinds and voices.

Two guests added percussion, grand piano, organ and moog.

This band released two albums between 1976 and 1978. Both are being reviewed in this blog.

The music on this forty minutes long album is a blend of fusion and local folk music. The Weather Report with flamenco is a pretty precise description of this album.

The music is mid-tempo though and not particular intense.

The music is also melodic with some weirdo voices, guitars and rhythms. This is by no means a run of the mill fusion album.

The quality is decent enough throughout this album. This is an album well worth checking out if fusion floats your boat.
