Fat Sparrow - Fat Sparrow II (2017)

The second album from this band from Australia.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, saxophones and trumpet.

This band from Perth, Australia has so far released two albums. I reviewed their debut album sometime earlier this week and I liked it a lot. I also love their band name. Yes, sparrows can be some fat feathered friends and that even here in Europe.

This album is clocking in at twenty-five minutes.

That probably makes it an EP. Anyway...

The music is again a blend of jazz and fusion.

The music is mid-tempo, dynamic and complex. The music is still melodic.

There are a lot of trumpets and saxophone solos here. There are also some good half-acoustic jazzy guitars solos and harmonies here. The rhythm section is holding it all together.

This is a short album. It still throws a punch. This is another good album from this band. I fear that this band has disbanded and that is a shame. I like this band a lot.
