The ninth album from this band from Sweden.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
Three guests added percussion, keyboards and female vocals.
The band returned again after a three years long break.
Dead End Kings is clocking in at one hour.
During their first eight albums, the band has migrated from the death & doom metal genre to the alternative rock genre. A journey they share with the likes of Anathema and a few other bands.
The music is hard alternative rock.
This album was also their most melodic album. To that date, that is. The music is also melancholic.
The vocals are good and there are some good programmed strings here too.
The quality of the music is not that impressive. It is a bit too run-of-the-mill. That said, this is still a pretty good album.
