The second album from this band from USA.
The band was a one-man-band with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, piano, keyboards, organ, synths, tape loops, saxophones, programming and vocals.
Michael S. Judge is the man using The Nerve Institute as the name for his music. He released his debut album Ficciones under the name Sinthome in 2010. I have not been able to find that album yet. The third and final album Fictions was released in 2015 and I will post a review of that album next week.
Architects Of Flesh Destiny is clocking in at one hour and the music is eclectic, as you would expect from an album released on the Fading Records label, a sub-label of AltRock Productions in Italy.
There is a lot of jazz influences on this album. Strictly speaking, this is not an eclectic prog album as the music is far too melodic for that. There is indeed some symphonic prog here, blended pretty good with the jazz. There is also some notable Canterbury scene influences in this music.
There are some sporadic vocals here. Most of the music is instrumental. The music is also playful and quirky throughout. It is also pretty heavy at times.
The overall quality is pretty good. There are some decent stuff here and some good stuff. This is still an album well worth checking out.
