Inquire - Melancholia (2003)

The third and final album from this band from Germany.

The band was a trio with a line-up of drums, bass pedals, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

A handful of guests added accordion, narration and vocals.

I reviewed their first two albums in August and September 2015 for # 1 of this blog and were not impressed at all by them. So I put this, their third album, aside for a future review until I added it to my to-review list earlier this year.

Melancholia is clocking in at ninety-five minutes.

The music is symphonic prog. It is also a concept album based on Jean Paul Sartre's novel La Nausee.

The music is also pretty influenced by krautrock too. There is a lot of narrations here and some weird vocals.

The music is pretty pedestrian throughout. The music also moves in all directions, based on the scattergun method.

This is a decent enough album. I have yet to be impressed by this band. An obscure band and barely a footnote in our history.
