The debut album from this band from France.
The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, saxophones, samples, programming and vocals.
Two guests added violins and vocals.
This band has so far released nine albums and I am reviewing them this spring and summer.
I have been warned that their music is very strange and twisted. Hence, I got some trepidations....
This forty-two minutes long album takes us into a blend of nu-metal and alternative metal.
The vocals is mostly distorted and heavy. The music is also very heavy at the beginning of this album. After half an hour, we get some ambient music and some rather strange grunge ballads.
The alternative metal is pretty good. The ambient stuff and grunge bits are a bit sub-standard.
The result is not a convincing debut album. It is more like various ideas thrown together and presented as an album. This is a decent album but nothing more than that.
