The second album from this band from Japan.
The band was a quintet with a line-up of drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, synths and vocals.
One guest added woodwinds on one of the four tracks here.
Their 1983 debut album was a very good album (see my review). Hence, I had some expectations to this, the follow up album.
The Idyll Party clocks in at fifty minutes.
The music is Canterbury prog.
References are National Health and Egg.
These references are not as obvious on this album as on the debut album, though. The music is more in the Canterbury jazz mould here than the Canterbury prog mould.
The music is also slightly more cinematic than before.
The organ sound is very good. The music is pretty good. This is still an acceptable album. It is an album fans of this genre should check out.
