Latimer. Andrew - From The Vault (2026)

The third album from this artist from Great Britain.

Andrew Latimer did the bass, guitars, synths, drum programming and vocals here.

Two guests added some instruments and vocals on a couple of tracks.

Andrew Latimer released his debut solo album last year, which he named War Stories (see review somewhere else in this blog) and has followed up that album with two new albums this year. This year's second album will be reviewed later this month.

Andrew Latimer is off course most known as the frontman in Camel, one of the greatest ever progressive rock bands.

From The Vault clocks in at thirty-four minutes.

The music here is symphonic prog.

This album is also a concept album. The theme is his health challenges and his recovery from them.

There are a lot of Camel references here. His debut album were a continuation of Camel and this album too is in that vein. The music though is more songs-orientated and more poppy.

The music here is not particular proggy or interesting. The far too few instrumental pieces are very good. The songs are too easy-listening and not interesting at all, besides of the lyrics.

This is a pretty good album but still one of the least interesting albums he has ever been released in Camel and as a solo artist.

Sorry...
