The sixth album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a duo with a lineup of bass, guitars, keyboards, harmonica, saxophone, flute and vocals.
Two guests added vocals on a couple of tracks. One of the guests was the ex Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin.
This is the final Black Widow album due to the passing of members of this band just after this album was released.
This is an album I have put off reviewing for the last fifteen years as I am not comfortable with overt religious music, satanic or Christian. In this case, the opening track is satanic. The band also had a satanic image and I also knew the late leader of this band, Clive James, from Facebook. He passed on ten years ago. R.I.P, Clive.
I have reviewed their first five albums in the first two editions of this blog. That is ten years ago. They are decent to good albums.
This album is clocking in at fifty-five minutes.
The music is hard rock with some prog rock elements. The music is very much retro 1970s hard rock. There are also some newer hard rock influences here. This in addition to some more mainstream rock and psych rock. The music is therefore pretty commercial.
The drums are replaced by a drum machine. The sound is big with lots of guitars, keyboards, woodwinds and vocals.
The music is decent enough. I am not really won over by this band at all. This band is a cult band. Ditto for their six albums. If retro hard rock is your thing....
