Sigmund Freud - Risveglio (2025)

The debut album from this band from Italy.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, moog, mellotron, synths, flute, sax and vocals.

This band were founded in 1972 and did some gigs in the 1970s. But the band did not enter the studio. Then there was a long silence before the band resurfaced with a studio recording of their 1970s songs.

This seventy minutes long album contains fifty minutes of a new studio album and twenty minutes of some cobbled-together sounds from the 1970s. Mostly live tracks.

The music here is classic RPI.

The music is mid-tempo with some strong symphonic prog influences. There is still some folk rock influences here too.

The Italian vocals is really good and the flutes are good too.

There are also some good moog, mellotron and guitars here.

The result is a very good album and one of the best RPI albums from last year. I doubt this band will release any more albums so this is a one-off album and one to be treasured.
