Baro Prog Jets - Prog Jet IV Aionverse (2025)

The fourth album from this band from Italy.

Baro Prog is Alberto Molesini on bass, guitars, keyboards, drums programming and vocals.

Four guests, including Heather Findlay, added vocals to this album.

The band, make that Alberto "Baro" Molesini, returned again four years after the Utopie album. An unimpressive album I reviewed back in 2021 in # 2 of this blog. I have reviewed their good 1 & 2 album in one review last month. An album I really like a lot.

IV Aionverse is a one hour long concept album. The music is still RPI. There are some cinematic rock and neo-prog here too.

The music is pretty epic at times. A bit baroque music influenced at times too. The music is still melodic with a rock opera feel at times.

The sound is missing out on some organic drums. That gives this album a bit of a light-weight fluffy feathers feel.

The vocals are in English.... unfortunate. The Italian language is excellent when it comes to music like this and Alberto has missed a trick here.

There are some very good pieces of music here and some not so good pieces here. This is therefore on average a good album and one to check out for anyone into concept albums, neo-prog and RPI. I hope we will hear a lot more from Alberto Molesini in the future.
