The debut album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
Two guests added keyboard solos on two tracks.
This is another new band to me. Earlier this year, they released their second album and a review of that album will be posted later this week.
The Island is clocking in at one hour.
The music here is neo-prog.
The music is in the Dutch and German neo-prog tradition with a lot of art-rock and melancholic rock influences. There are also some early Radiohead and Van Der Graaf Generator influences here.
The music is pretty mellow mid-tempo throughout.
The vocals are good.
This is indeed a good album and a more than acceptable debut album. I am really looking forward to sink my ears and brain into their new album.
