The sixth album from this band from Mexico.
The band was a quintet with a line-up of percussion, kalimba and acoustic guitars.
The band returned again after an eleven-year-long album break. I believe I have reviewed a couple of their first albums in earlier editions of this blog. I am not sure, though.
This album is clocking in at fifty minutes.
The music is eclectic prog. Instrumental acoustic eclectic prog.
Aranis is a pretty good reference. Nevertheless, Cabezas De Cera stakes out their own path on this album.
Yes, eclectic is the word. Add esoteric too and you get the picture...And a third word is also essential to understand this album. The word is organic.
The music is wholly acoustic. There are some melodies here too as the album is not too avant-garde.
The music is mid-tempo to fast. There are some strings like instruments here too and they add some melancholy to this album.
The quality is pretty good throughout. I am not entirely won over as the music is too esoteric for my liking. If eclectic esoteric prog is your cup of tea...
