Cortex - Vol. 2 (1977)

The second album from this band from France.

The band was a seven-piece big band with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, Fender Rhodes, piano, organ, MiniKorg, clavinet, saxophones and vocals.

Their 1975 debut album Troupeau Bleu is regarded as a cult-classic in French and European prog rock and fusion. It is a pretty good album as I wrote in my last month's review of this album.

Vol 2 is much more a straight fusion album than the Troupeau Bleu album. It clocks in at forty minutes and the music is groovy fusion.

There are some female voices here used as instruments. Besides of that, the music is instrumental.

The music is also pretty funky throughout.

The music has some good organ, guitars, piano and saxophone solos.

The fusion here is pretty standard but still pretty good. It is an interesting album, indeed.
