The debut album from this band from Sweden.
The band was a one-man-band with Andreas Hedlund doing the bass, guitars, organ, mellotron, keyboards, drums programming, programming and vocals.
He had help from some guests who provided guitars and vocals.
Andreas Hedlund have had a long career in the metal genre before he set up this project who released two albums. A review of the second album will follow later this year.
The Astral Factor is a three quarters of an hour long album.
The genre explored here is Scandinavian neo-prog. There are also some pomp rock and some mainstream rock influences here. Pretty big influences, that is.
The music is therefore very melodic. The sound is not particular good and parts of this album has this made-in-a-bedroom sound. The vocals is not particular good either.
The result is a decent enough album which falls well short when it comes to quality. This is still a pretty charming album.
