Alyeus - And From The Sky We Fall (2015)

The second and final album from this band from Canada.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, electric drill and vocals.

I was less than impressed by their 2013 debut album Forty Days At Sea which was a mess of an album and a borderline turkey. Hence... no expectations for this album, then.

We get a bit over half an hour with music here. Music which is a blend of heavy prog, progressive metal and djent.

The sound is modern and has taken a lot from nu-metal. The band has spent the three years between the albums by cleaning up their sound. They have focused more on their strengths and how to write better music.

The vocals is actually good here. The musicians has improved their craft a lot.

The songs are also better. It is still wrong to brand this as a talented band. They are not and their music is only decent and that is just about that. I am not surprised that part III of this trilogy of albums has never been released.
