The debut album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a duo with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, electronics and vocals.
This band from the north-east of England has so far released four albums and I have them up for review this fall.
This band has become quite popular lately. Hence my interest in them.
The music on this album is a blend of heavy prog and neo-prog. Large parts of this album, that is.
On a couple of tracks, the band sounds like early Dio and the vocalist sounds like the late Ronny James Dio. Those songs are the highlights on this album.
The rest of the album is mid-tempo with a couple of pastoral pieces too. The music is also slick and pretty commercial. It still has some interesting hooks and details.
The vocals are very good and this band's main strength.
This is a good debut album and one that makes me wishing for more. I hope the remaining three albums is as good or even better than this album.
