Lazuli - En Avant Doute (2006)

The third album from this band from France.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, percussion, marimba, metalphone, vibes, guitars, warr guitar, chapman stick, leode and vocals.

The band returned again after a two years long album break.

En Avant Doute is clocking in at forty-two minutes.

After their foray into French and North-African folk music on the previous album Amnesie, the band returned to a more mainstream heavy prog soundscape on this album.

There are also some strong classic French symphonic prog influences in their music.

The music is dominated by their own invented instrument, the leode. An instrument whose tones ranges from electric guitars to mellotron and moog synths. That gives this album a very fat sound.

The French female vocals is very good and is adding a lot of colours to this album.

This is indeed a good album and one to check out.
