Moron Police - Defenders of the Small Yard (2014)

The second album from this band from Norway.

The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Three guests added bass, fiddle and backing vocals on a couple of tracks.

This is the follow up album to the 2012 album The Propaganda Machine, an album I reviewed earlier this week and gave pretty good rating.

The music on this three quarters of an hour long album is pretty hard and heavy as it is rooted in the 1970s hard rock scene, Frank Zappa's weirdo music and punk rock... Not so much punk rock this time, though.

The music is very catchy and quirky. It some sort of party music and the mood is happy and life-affirming.

The music here is not as good as on their debut album. There is no really good songs here.

The result is a decent enough album, though. Thankfully, their third album, reviewed in # 2 this blog, is a good album. I will review their fourth and brand new album before the end of the year.
