Ovrfwrd - There Are No Ordinary Moments (2024)

The fifth album from this band from USA.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, programming and keyboards.

This is their so far latest album and the follow up album to 2020's good StarStuff album. An album reviewed earlier this week in this blog.

This seventy minutes long album takes us down the same path as the band has followed since their debut album. That means more instrumental heavy progressive rock.

The band embraced a more softer organic progressive sound on the StarStuff album and that is something they have also done on this album too.

There are some programmed flutes and woodwinds here. Even some programmed violins too. This in addition to the cascades of guitars and piano.

Some of the stuff here is even a bit jazzy too.

The result is a pretty good album and their second best album. If instrumental heavy prog is your cup of tea, this band should be checked out.
