Ujig - Ujigami (2022)

The third album from this band from Italy.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, double bass, guitars and keyboards.

The band started out as a pretty ordinary jazz band on the first two albums. The result was two satisfactory albums which did not really impress me.

The fifty minutes long Ujigami sees the band branch out towards fusion and cinematic rock. Add in some neo-classical music too and you get the picture.

The music is both melodic and elegant. There is a couple of minutes long piece of neo-classical music here which feel a bit of a waste of time. Besides of that, the music has a good flow.

The guitars and keyboards are very good here. The rest of the band also do a good job. There is no doubts that this is a very good band.

This is indeed a good album and well worth checking out.
