The debut album from this band from France.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, keyboards, saxophones and vocals.
The band has released four studio albums plus a retrospective outtakes album. I will review their four studio albums this winter, starting with their debut album.
Wikipedia has described this band as a jazz-funk band. They also label this album as a cult-classic.
The music on this forty minutes long album is dominated by some soft female French vocals, a rampant piano and the saxophones.
The music is soft jazz, bordering on lounge-jazz at times. The music is really laidback most of the times where the vocals serve as an instrument.
The music is pretty funky despite being slow. There is some interesting details here too. The music is also elegant and classy.
I am not sure about this claim that this album is a cult-classic. Nevertheless, this is a pretty good album and well worth checking out.
