The 12th album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, organ and vocals.
The band returned again five years after that dismal rockabilly cover versions album and twelve years after their good last studio album.
The Well's On Fire clocks in at one hour.
The music is a blend of art-rock and mainstream rock.
This has indeed been their take on progressive rock for the last half a dozen studio albums. Their own niche in the scene.
The music is a blend of mid-tempo and slower songs.
The mood is reflective and melancholic. The songs has some hidden depth too.
Most of the songs are a bit too simple and straight forward. Gary Brooker's vocals is very good.
The quality is decent enough and this is a pretty cosy, charming album. It is not among their better albums.
