The fourth album from this band from USA.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of percussion, bass, guitars, organ and vocals.
Three guests added drums on some tracks.
The band soldiered on under the leadership of Lou Reed. This album is regarded as the last true album from this band. The following album Squeeze, is more regarded as a solo album by one of its members. I will review that album in some days time.
Loaded clocks in at forty minutes.
The music here is more straight rock'n'roll than avant-garde rock. The band was told to write some radio-friendly tracks by their record label and the result is this album. None of the tracks became hits, btw.
The music here is indeed a lot more commercially accessible than on any other of their albums.
The music is still pretty minimalistic and based on vocals and guitars.
The music is decent enough and an improvement on their previous album. The music is therefore pretty OK'ish. The best thing about this album is the stylish art-work.
