The third album from this band from USA.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of percussion, bass, guitars, organ and vocals.
John Cale had left the band but Lou Reed kept on going with this band. The result was this album. I have not been impressed by their first two albums. But this band is, for good and worse, an icon and it is only right to review all their studio albums.
The Velvet Underground clocks in at three quarters of an hour.
The music is acoustic psych rock.
The music is pretty downtuned and minimalistic. Most of the music is performed by acoustic guitars and vocals.
Lou Reed is the lead vocalist here. He is helped by two female vocalists too. There are some sporadic organs here.
Most of the songs are pretty dire. There are three decent songs which is the saving grace on this album.
This album is only a half-decent album and best avoided.
