The second album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, keyboards, synths, pipes and vocals.
A guest added backing vocals.
I reviewed their classic debut album The Sentinel for ProgArchives back in February 2009 and then more or less forgot about the band... until this year when I have decided to review their remaining seven albums. Reviews to be published throughout this summer.
The Wedge is a forty minutes long album which is following very much in the footsteps of The Sentinel.
That means early 1980s neo-prog with a lot of pop-rock influences.
The songs has a mix of catchy pop-rock and more Genesis like songs. Mostly catchy pop-rock.
This album is so mired in the 1980s plastic fantastic sound that it feels more outdated than most 1970s albums. The music is (barely) decent enough and that is all.
This album is a disappointment compared to The Sentinel too. This is one of their weakest, if not the weakest album.
