The third album from this band/project from Germany.
The band/project was a sextet with a line-up of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, saxophones, flute and vocals.
I reviewed their very good debut album earlier this year (released under the band name ML Bongers Project) and then their decent enough follow up album some days ago. I am now reviewing their third and final (?) album.
Crossing The Bar is clocking in at forty minutes.
The music is a blend of krautrock and old style symphonic prog.
The music here is songs based with lots of vocals. The music is also mid-tempo. The sound is only pretty good.
The musicians does a good job. The vocals are pretty bad. Mostly when the vocalist tries to hit the high notes. Tries but fails.
The quality of the music varies between abysmal to good. On balance, this is a decent album but still their worst album.
ML Bongers should be remembered for their very good album released under the ML Bongers Project. The two following albums are not particularly interesting.
