Rolf Zero - Poseidon (2025)

The eight album from this band from Australia.

The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars and keyboards.

Their first seven albums has been a mixed bag, to put it mildly. From the very poor to pretty good. So my expectations here were pretty low.

The band has decided to become more a rock band on the fifty minutes long Poseidon. An album with some good art-work for a change.

The opening minutes is pretty hard rocking and in the heavy prog genre. The music mellows out after while and we are getting a mix of cinematic rock and symphonic prog.

The music is mainly performed by guitars in the beginning before the keyboards takes over and starts to dominate the music. At the end, the balance is is restored and we get some good harmonies.

Not everything here is good, but this is still a pretty good album and one of their best ones. It is an album well worth checking out.
