Kashgar - Kashgar III (2026)

The third album from this band from Canada.

The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, organ and keyboards.

Three guests added cello, saxophone and vocals on a couple of tracks.

The band returned six years after the good Artefact album. An album I reviewed some days ago.

Kashgar III is clocking in at fifty minutes.

The music is a blend of fusion, symphonic prog and cinematic rock. There are also some Indian folk music/pop with vocals at the end, the final five minutes.

The music's platform is fusion.

The music is both catchy and melodic. There are some funky acoustic guitars here which is adding a lot of colours to the music.

The guitars are very good throughout. The guitars range from acoustic via half-acoustic jazzy parts to full on electric guitar riffs and solos.

The other instruments are adding a lot of spice to their music. The organ and the percussion deserve a lot of praise too.

The music is very good at times. Most of the times, that is.

The result is a very good album and their best so far. I really hope we will hear a lot more from this band in the future.
