Lalu - A Mythmaker's Demise (2026)

The fifth album from this band from France.

The band was a quartet with a line-up of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

The band returned again, three years after their fourth album The Fish Who Wanted To Be King. A good album, indeed.

A Mythmaker's Demise clocks in at three quarters of an hour.

The music here is progressive metal.

There are a lot of heavy prog and some art-rock influences in their music too.

The music is epic, monumental, hard and very complex.

The music is also melodic and pretty elegant at the same time. There are some subtle jazz influences in the music here too.

The vocals are superb and there are a lot good details here too.

The result is a good album and one to check out from one of the new big bands in the progressive metal scene.
