The eighth album from this band from the Czech Republic.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, emulator and mini-moog.
One guest added percussion.
The band returned again after a twenty-nine years long pause.
The Iron Curtain and communism was gone. Czechoslovakia, the band's homeland was also gone, split into two states. The Czech Republic had become a normal European country. A lot of fundamental changes in other words. Enough to make anyone dizzy.
Znovu is clocking in at seventy minutes.
Most of the old lineup has returned again for this album.
The music is more jazz than fusion on this album. The music is scaled back from their previous, more lush and bigger sounding albums.
The result is some minimalistic jazz with some few solos and some pretty good melodies and ideas.
This album is not their finest hour. It is one of their weakest albums. It is still a pretty good album.
2.5 points
