Rainbow - Rising (1976)

The second album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a line-up of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Munic Philharmonic Orchestra added strings and woodwinds to one of the tracks too.

Ronnie James Dio and Ritchie Blackmore continued their cooperation on this album. Cozy Powell, Tony Carey and Jimmy Bain were the three other members here. Pure rock royalty in other words on this album, the follow up to their good debut album.

Rising clocks in at thirty-five minutes.

The music is classic hard-rock.

There are some blues influences here too. Most of their songs are epic too.

The vocals and the guitars are very good here. The arrangements are good too.

The best song here is Stargazer. A song which is pointing to the future of the band, the Difficult To Cure album among them. The guitar solo here is superb and one of Mr. Blackmore's finest moments.

There are a couple of sub-standard songs here too. This album is still a pretty good album and one to check out if hard rock is your thing.
