This is the follow up to their movie soundtrack album Vampyr from the same year. That album was a diversion from their usual music.
The one hour long Tocsin is a return to intense, fast post-metal.
The music is harsh and slightly dissonant.
The music is also pretty sad and is mainly performed by electric guitars.
The music has a lot in common with black metal at times too.
The music is also epic and that makes this an interesting one hour worth of music.
The result is a pretty good album too. This is not their best album but still an album well worth checking out. Reviews of their latest two albums will be posted in some days time.
