Uriah Heep - Abominog (1982)

The 14th album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

This is the follow up album to the pretty dire 1980 Conquest album.

Since that album, the main composer Ken Hensley had left the band together with three other members. Only the guitarist Mick Box were left and he had recruited four other musicians for this album.

The album art-work is pretty iconic. It is a pretty bad album cover. This was the 1980s, the age of bad taste and this art-work is very much in bad taste.

The music on this three quarters of an hour long album is a blend of hard rock and heavy metal.

The music has this 1980s heavy metal sound and most of the other ills of this decade. The Uriah Heep DNA still shines through at times.

The vocals is pretty good. The quality is pretty decent. There are some dire stuff here and this album is their weakest effort so far.
