The second and final album from this band from Indonesia.
The band is a seven pieces big band with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, violin, keyboards, woodwinds, asian instruments and vocals.
Three guests added steel guitars and vocals on some tracks.
I reviewed their 1999 debut album 1st back in May 2011 for ProgArchives and liked it a lot. So much that I gave it a 3.5 points rating.
..Tot Licht is clocking in at seventy minutes and we get a lot of various genres on this album. Just as we got on their debut album too.
Their music is listed as avant-garde in several blogs. I am not sure about that as neither of their two albums has been avant-garde albums.
The music on .. Tot Licht is more like a rock opera than anything else. Personally, I believe it is indeed a rock opera as the music is symphonic, epic and powerful with lots of male and female vocals on the top of some pretty melodic, bold music.
The music is pretty good too with a lot of good pieces of music. This album is not as good as their debut album. Nevertheless, it is an album well worth checking out.
2.5 points
