Uriah Heep - Salisbury (1971)

The second album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of vibes, drums, bass, guitars, harpsichord, piano, organ and vocals.

Some guests added woodwinds.

This forty minutes long album is regarded as classic album from the 1970s.

Uriah Heep was a hard rock band... nominally a hard rock band, that is. This album though takes us into prog rock.

The opening track is hard rock before we get a prog rock track and then a mix of hard rock and prog rock.

The title track is a sixteen minutes long prog rock opus. A weird one, but still a melodic track with woodwinds included.

The vocals on this album is very good and the band does a good job on some really good tracks. This album has perhaps not aged well. It is still a good album and one to check out.
