Steely Dan - Can't Buy a Thrill (1972)

The debut album from this band from USA.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, sitar, piano, electric piano and vocals.

A handful of guests added percussion, guitars, saxophone, flugelhorn and vocals.

This band is a legendary band and a band I have yet to explore. Hence I will review their nine albums this winter in this blog.

The music on this forty minutes long album is jazzy, quirky pop-rock.

There is also a lot of funk in their mid-tempo music. Music which is songs based too.

The sound and music is typical for the 1970s and sophisticated. The songs are quirky with some breezy coolness.

The vocals is good and the music oozes class. The ten songs here are all good. The music does not feel dated at all and it is very understandable why this band became so popular and still is a popular band.
