The second album from this band from Norway.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, steel guitars, banjo, harmonica and vocals.
Their 1974 debut album New Day was a decent enough album as you can read in my review from last week.
Wounded Bird is clocking in at almost forty minutes and it got the band some international popularity. Flying Norwegians and their first two albums were pretty popular in USA and Canada. It was the first time Norway's pop and rock scene got some considerable international exposure.
The music is country rock, a much maligned genre.
There is a lot of country'n'western style vocals and slide guitars here. The music is very melodic. The music is also mid-tempo.
There are not many interesting details here. Neither is the music prog rock influenced.
The quality is slightly lower than on the New Day album. This is still a decent album. These two albums are the only two albums from this band worth checking out.
