The debut album from this band from Great Britain.
Spirergy is a one-man-band with Dave Allen doing the drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, electronics and vocals.
This is a new name to me. This album was voted the album of the year in a couple of online prog rock magazines. The band released their second album last year and I will review it next month.
This album clocks in at the one hour mark.
The music is symphonic prog. References are in particular Yes. There are also some Genesis and ELP influences here.
The vocals reminds me a lot about Jon Anderson, formerly of Yes. The vocals is very good indeed. The rest of the music also gives me a lot of good Yes vibes.
The music is at times very good and the result is an album in the classic symphonic prog tradition. This album deserves a lot of praise and I am really looking forward to giving the second album my attention.
This is a very good album indeed.
